If you are working to avoid Fat gain then you will benefit by having a simple yet effective way of knowing that you are eating a balanced meal that automatically keeps your calories under control. I have a simple philosophy and that is when it comes to Fat control keep your diet simple and sane and below I share one of my popular strategies for doing just that.
Avoid Fat Gain
Keep it simple and sane. When you try to weed through a complicated eating plan you run into too many roadblocks, get overwhelmed and quit.
Here is the thing, there are 6 nutrients that you take in through your diet: Protein, Carbohydrate, Fat, Vitamins, Minerals and Water. If you spend your day trying to get the proper grams of each of these 6 nutrients in an attempt to eat the “perfect” diet you will drive yourself nuts.
Solution? All you need to do is divide your plate at meal time and fill half your plate with vegetables, one quarter with protein and the last quarter with a whole grain carbohydrate and you have a balanced and healthy meal plan that allows you to avoid Fat gain with less hassle and frustration.
Feel free to add a tablespoon of good fat (i.e. olive oil, canola oil or fat from fish, avocado or nuts) and you get all of the nutrients your body needs to function optimally.
Fat loss does not have to be complicated and you can easily avoid Fat gain by simply using this divided plate plan at your meals during the day.
