Fat Loss Or Fat Loss – The Difference Between Success and Failure

diet fat loss tips

One of the top New Year’s resolutions every year is to “lose Fat.” This I believe is the single biggest factor leading to Fat loss failure.

Fat loss is a “catch all” term. The word “Fat” refers to the force of the Earth’s gravitational field on the mass of your body. So what you really mean when you say you want to “lose Fat” is that you want to “lose mass.”

But, the secret to achieving any goal is to be as specific as possible. So you want to lose Fat – lose mass – but just any mass?

Sure you want to see the number on the scale go down, but don’t you want to lose the right mass? What if you still have a gut or saddlebags but you’re 30 pounds lighter than you are now? Were you as successful as you wanted to be?

Probably not.

What you really wanted to do without verbalizing it was to “lose fat.” Fat, is what gives you some of those unsightly shapes that drive you crazy when you look in the mirror – the lovehandles, the “pooch,” the gut, or the saddlebags.

The word Fat, when it relates to the amount of mass your body carries, can be organs, water, bone, muscle, waste product, and fat.

Which one do you want to get rid of? You want to lose fat, right?

So, in order to be successful in changing the appearance of your body you must be very specific with your subconscious and tell yourself correctly that you are going to lose fat, not Fat.

Then you must seek to find the right eating plan and the right exercise program that maximize fat loss and minimize the loss of the others – the water, muscle, etc. (Ok, and getting rid of waste product is a good idea too – but hopefully you’re catching my drift here…)

What is the right eating plan?

Well that’s for another article, but let me just tell you this: It’s one that provides energy for your body. So, how do you immediately start losing Fat?

By changing your terminology and deciding that you want to lose fat instead. Try this simple change and see if you’re not more receptive to finding more of the right things to help you lose fat.
