As someone who writes a lot about diet and fitness information online and publishes a regular health newsletter, I often get emails in which I see this well known message: “Please, help me lose Fat”.
I only wish I was some kind of magician, capable of casting a spell to help melt the fat away. However, I can only help you to lose Fat if you’re ready to help yourself. You need to be an active participant in this process. I will do my best to help out.
The first thing you need to know is that it’s entirely possible for you to lose Fat. In fact, our body is made to burn calories whether you’re an athlete or a regular Joe or Jane. Even in our resting period we’re burning calories, all the time. It’s part of our natural processes.
The second thing you should know is that Fat loss doesn’t happen all by itself. You need to really want it and be willing to make the necessary effort.
The third thing you need to know is that your diet is the key. You can’t outtrain or undo a bad diet. You are what you eat and nothing can change it. Therefore, if you want to lose Fat you have got to start making healthier food choices. Switch pre-made food to freshly cooked food, cut down on salty or sugar rich foods, replace candy and chocolate with fresh fruit, reduce alcohol, and include lots of lean protein in your diet.
The fourth thing is that you can influence the very process in which your body burns calories and make it faster and more powerful. Your metabolism is what determines how fast or how slow you can burn off calories and you can do a lot to boost it. A few ways include: eating smaller meals more often instead of bigger meals, sleeping enough hours, making sure you drink enough water, include various spices like cinnamon and pepper in your regular diet, and increase muscle mass.
The fifth thing you should do is get off the couch and start working out regularly. A good fitness plan includes both cardio workouts and strength exercises. Many believe that Fat training is even more effective than cardio to lose Fat since adding more muscle mass helps you to boost your metabolism.
The key is to maintain a high motivation and belief in yourself. You can help yourself to lose Fat. You can achieve fantastic results. However, you need to be sure to continue working out regularly and watch what you eat to make a constant and continuous difference.
