Many people, especially those that follow fad diets or do not properly educate themselves, engage in unhealthy practices while attempting to lose Fat. The primary goal of any diet should always be to increase your overall fitness and level of well-being, even if you are obsessed with losing Fat.
-Don’t Skip Meals.
Besides depriving yourself of needed calories and nutrients, skipping meals caused your body to “freak-out” and go into storage mode. Thousands of years of survival and instinct have honed your body into a lean survival machine. It does not care about how you look in a bathing suit, and is more concerned with overall survival. Skipping meals makes your body believe that it is going to starve and it begins to act accordingly.
Several small, balanced meals a day actually increases your metabolism and causes your body to burn more fat.
-Water.
Drink more of it. Drink it in the morning, drink it at night, drink it all of the time. Water helps stimulate fat burning.
-Healthy Fat.
Your brain is a big, giant, fatty, mess. By attempting to cut all fat out of your diet you will, in the long run, deprive your brain of the essential building blocks it needs for efficient operating. Nuts, avocados, olive oil, fish oil, are all great for helping the brain operate at peak efficiency and burn off the bad fat that you may have previously overindulged in.
-Stress Management
Your body does not differentiate between various types of stress. Its’ reaction to stress is consistent regardless of the source. One of these reactions is to begin storing fat and calories for an emergency. By managing your stress you will increase your metabolism and be an overall happier person.
